Howat.io - To Do
Well, this site has been in existence for less than a week, but it is mostly configured the way I would like as far as the underlying deployment and architecture. I can blog, I can upload photos easily from the cloud, I’m feeling pretty OK about the look-and-feel. But there is still a lot to be done - mostly on the public facing side. Today I thought my log would be a simple punch list of items I need to take care of. 👊
The List:
Fix the weird UI bug with the top of the ‘etc’ menu on desktop. There is either some drop shadow or some kind of overlap happening that makes a faint line between ‘meta’ and ‘etc’ when hovering.Add the blinking cursor to all page top-level headings(maybe? Or just get rid of it on the home page but make it consistent).- Add content to all of the etc pages
Remove the ‘photo stream’ and ‘my photos and visual moments’ (whatever the hell that means 😂) from the ‘img’ page.Make a good homepage- Set up ‘etc’ pages to display images and log entries that are tagged with relevant tags.
See if I can enable a ‘draft’ option in the blog/photos CMS.Standardize page titles as far as what displays in the browser tab (main should be home - make sure capitalization and such is consistent)Standardize the use of the forward slash for directory pages (any page with pages nested beneath it). See if there is a way this can be dynamic so it happens automatically when a page has nested pages- Guest book / ‘wall’ page
‘Back to Photos’ button looks janky and needs to match the Log analog
…and I’m sure a LOT more, but to avoid this feeling like work I’m going to leave it there for now. I will come back and edit this post when I’ve accomplished each of these tasks.
